I contacted Matt and asked if I could jump on board Silver Halo for a trip and some tuition. I took the opportunity to use the onboard kit and Wow I was not disappointed. Matt put us on the fish and with a couple of drifts under his watchful eye and a few pointers taken on board, I was soon amongst some quality hard fighting double figure Pollock. The Joker Slammer was the jig of choice in varying colours throughout the day. A cracking day on board Silver Halo. I have since purchased a quantity of gear from Matt, to get my SPJ fishing off the mark. Thanks again Matt for converting me from the norm.

  I went out in my boat late November last year for a days lure fishing, which started with couple of... read more small pollock and “eff-ing” pouting to standard long traces with Skerries eels but as the tide slackened I reached for the slow jigs. This was the first time I’d been out in decent conditions since I’d bought some of the Joker Slammer jigs and was looking forward to trying them,,, oh my word do they work well! Cornish cod are not as rare as you would think,,, if you get lucky. Three drifts across the reef yielded cod of 11lb 4oz and 10lb 12oz and finally one of about 5lb which I put back. I moved to get away from the cod (not something that happens very often) as I had plenty of fish for the table and second drift on a wreck gave me a good pollock on the drop! All caught on 200g Cotton Candy Slammers in 180 feet of water on a biggish tide, it was the perfect jig for this style of fishing yesterday. I loved how quickly it got down to the deck on a fairly fast drift and the “feel” of it working was superb. Wish I could add pictures to the review, stunning fish! Just got some of the new Black Mack variants, can’t wait to get out to try them too.🛥️🎣🐟 🦄😃

  Having been commercial bass fishermen for over 20 years we thought that we had got all the bases covered, livebaiting... read more , shadding, all forms of eels,jellies etc, that was until we tried these little mayhem jigs, we were having a tough day on the inshore reefs, the fish were there but not taking any of our traditional lures, we suspected that they had gorged themselves on sprats and were not really feeding. We decided to dig out the spinning rods and tie on a couple of mayhems and see if we could tempt the fish to feed, we both dropped down and after the jigs got down to a depth of 65 feet in 70 feet of water they both stopped, both lures had been taken on the drop, to cut a long story short we caught over 40 bass in just over an hour, nothing big but it turned a poor commercial day into a successful one, we duly placed an order for more and a few days later we received them, these lures are now our “go to” lure when the fishing is difficult.

  First time using the mayhem jig and my friend was using traditional lures first drop for me on a inshore... read more reef 6lb bass I had 4 bass in the 4 to 6 range my friend had nothing next drift I had 2 more bass similar size and a bonus pollock my mate nothing the next drift I give him a mayhem jig bang stright on he had 2 and I had 3 bass it was like it till the tide dropped off all I can say is they out fish all the traditional lures best about iv proven this on many times in the past well done Matt for putting these on the market ups the fishing 100%

The preferred choice was the 130-acid orange Slammer ..3 takes and 3 fish!Second jig was a 170 black Mack slammer ..wow 2bass and another 2 pollock !The catch results say it all if fished correctly …I’m still learning a lot about SPJ but am thoroughly hooked!😂
