Description
The JOKER Slammer jig is a highly versatile, streamline, quick drop jig. It’s great at avoiding streaming away when the tide and boat are at odds.
It’ll catch pretty much any predatory fish, but most commonly cod, bass and pollock. It works well using typical slow pitch actions with short, medium or long and high pitches. It’s also great for working up through the water column a bit faster. This is a great way to encourage fish to move in and attack.
When set up correctly, a typical pitch of the rod fires the jig upwards and onto its side, from there it hovers slightly before a slow horizontal, flat fall.
Watch for hits at the top of the pitch, during the fall and any pauses in the jigs movement.
The Slammer jig is also often hit on the drop as it falls into any fish holding zones. It’s also common to be picked up off the bottom.
Now available in 5 colours and 80g, 100g, 130g, 170g and 200g.
All jigs to be pre fitted with a pair of top quality assist hooks to the top eye.

After seeing the results from silver halo charters these were the first jigs I purchased. First time I used them I had a great day on the pollack with a few bass chucked in aswell. Nice that they get down fast in a bit of tide!

I’m not new with slow pitch jigging and I’m fairly knowledgeable with the technique. The Joker slammer is one of the best and most effective jig I’ve ever used. Due to its design, it can be very flexible with different pitching style. Joker jigs are highly recommended.

New to SPJ …after a couple of trips out with Silver Halo charters and some expert guidance from Matt ,I used his own SPJ set ups on his boat.
The preferred choice was the 130-acid orange Slammer ..3 takes and 3 fish!Second jig was a 170 black Mack slammer ..wow 2bass and another 2 pollock !The catch results say it all if fished correctly …I’m still learning a lot about SPJ but am thoroughly hooked!😂

I went out in my boat late November last year for a days lure fishing, which started with couple of small pollock and “eff-ing” pouting to standard long traces with Skerries eels but as the tide slackened I reached for the slow jigs. This was the first time I’d been out in decent conditions since I’d bought some of the Joker Slammer jigs and was looking forward to trying them,,, oh my word do they work well! Cornish cod are not as rare as you would think,,, if you get lucky. Three drifts across the reef yielded cod of 11lb 4oz and 10lb 12oz and finally one of about 5lb which I put back. I moved to get away from the cod (not something that happens very often) as I had plenty of fish for the table and second drift on a wreck gave me a good pollock on the drop! All caught on 200g Cotton Candy Slammers in 180 feet of water on a biggish tide, it was the perfect jig for this style of fishing yesterday. I loved how quickly it got down to the deck on a fairly fast drift and the “feel” of it working was superb. Wish I could add pictures to the review, stunning fish! Just got some of the new Black Mack variants, can’t wait to get out to try them too.🛥️🎣🐟 🦄😃

Well these jiggs dose exactly wat they say on the tin , slam the fish in , great jiggs get down quickly and has a lovely hang time and fish jest love to take them on the drop , used the black mack on the 4th on matts boat and had a brilliant day with 4 consecutive drifts producing 4 doubles for me , iv ordered more lol 😆

Brilliant jigs, used them mid channel in 300ft of water for pollack. Because of the slim profile they rocket down to the wreck. I out-fished the others on the boat that day! Until I lost them tobthe wreck.

I had previously brought a slammer jig in acid orange from a local tackle shop to try, love the way these jigs perform. Get down nice and quick but also have great movement . Decided I needed more and so have now bought several more directly from Matt in different sizes and colours, can’t wait to get out and give them a go and see if the black mac and blue pink work as well as the orange one has on previous trips out.

Personally my favourite out of the Jokers! Best colour for catching for me is the Blue and Pink! They’re fantastic, quick drop to the bottom even in a fairly heavy tidal current, and easy to learn to SPJ with!

I’ve used the slammers to great effect in catching Pollack and the dreaded pout over the channel wrecks. Fluoro orange and black mack are my go tos. Slammers drop quickly with little streaming away and are really versatile in responding to short, fast or long slow pitches. Great pieces of kit.

After years of hearing how effective SPJ was and watching many a you tube video but not actually steering away from the norm. I contacted Matt and asked if I could jump on board Silver Halo for a trip and some tuition. I took the opportunity to use the onboard kit and Wow I was not disappointed. Matt put us on the fish and with a couple of drifts under his watchful eye and a few pointers taken on board, I was soon amongst some quality hard fighting double figure Pollock. The Joker Slammer was the jig of choice in varying colours throughout the day. A cracking day on board Silver Halo.
